Even before Ocean Grand was incorporated, Scott was trained in design services working for a company responsible for all of Regal Cinema's on screen advertising using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator only available on the Macintosh.

Ocean Grand was founded in Florida in 1993 with four DBAs: Kaleidoscope Design Studios, Southern Export Hardwood and Lumber, Encompass Architectural, and Oceantech Structures Engineering and Project Management. Together, these entities provided comprehensive design services, imported exotic lumber and building materials, and delivered architectural design and engineering services throughout Florida and the Caribbean.

Twenty-four years ago, Ocean Grand, Inc. was also incorporated in Virginia Beach by Scott and Melissa. The company established a design division within Ocean Grand, offering brand identity development, digital artwork creation, high-resolution scanning,
typesetting, print document layout, vector artwork creation, print-production preparation, printing services, website design, video production, trade show booth design, conference materials, and promotional and print materials designed to create a cohesive, professional brand presence. Ocean Grand was also one of the first companies in the state to offer high-resolution drum scanning which is the highest-quality and highest-resolution method available for digitizing photographic film.

Over the past 24 years, Ocean Grand, Inc. has created and maintained complete brand identity packages for more than 300 businesses and nonprofits.

In 2011, Ocean Grand, Inc. expanded beyond its single-company focus by adding the DBA SimpleNonprofit to its portfolio. SimpleNonprofit became the leading worldwide resource for learning how to start a nonprofit. Through the organization, Ocean Grand helped establish and train others to operate more than 350 nonprofit organizations around the world.

In 2013, Ocean Grand expanded again by contracting with Google to launch its new business marketing service, Google Business Photos. Operating under the name DBA City Rank Marketing, the company introduced the service throughout the East Coast. Later that year, it added SEO services for more than 25 companies in Virginia Beach and Florida.

Ocean Grand continued to grow by contracting with Google and several U.S.-based technology companies to provide marketing and product-launch services, as well as project-launch and employee-training support.

After 34 years, Ocean Grand continues to provide comprehensive branding and design services, architectural design, project management, real estate market intelligence, investment analysis, and personalized consulting throughout the East Coast, from Virginia to Florida.
